You may be aware that there is a rail strike scheduled for the date of our 2022 event. However whether or not the strike goes ahead, rest assured that Imberbus will still be running on 20th August!

Fortunately, public bus services will still be running to Warminster from Bath, Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge, Westbury, Frome and Salisbury and the bus and coach industry, along with bus preservationists are working to help us, and you too, by operating the the following special trips to our event – please book early to guarantee a seat:

From London Victoria Coach Station and Basingstoke – National Express will be running the first ever direct Coach service from London to Imber. Numbered X23, this will depart London at 8.30am and Basingstoke at 10.10am and is expected to arrive at Imber at 11.45am, returning from Imber at 4.55pm. The cost for travelling on this coach will be £31 per person and tickets which include free travel on the Imberbus service can be booked at www.nationalexpress.com (select the destination “Imber Village, inc Coach & Entry Ticket”).

From London Hammersmith – Coach operator Readybus will be operating an excursion from London to Warminster, picking up at Hammersmith at 8.30am and returning from Imber at 5.30pm. The cost for travelling on this coach will be £30 per person and tickets which include free travel on the Imberbus service can be booked at www.readybus.com/product-page/lost-village-of-imber .

From Weymouth and Dorchester – Coach operator Crossways Travel will be operating an excursion to Warminster, picking up in the Weymouth area at approximately 9am, Dorchester at 9.30am and at a few other villages as well. The cost for travelling on this coach will be £42.50 for adults and £38.25 for children and these prices also includes a ticket allowing free travel on the Imberbus services. From Coventry and Stratford on Avon – The owner of a preserved coach from the West Midlands is planning to bring his vehicle to Imber and has offered to allow anyone wishing to attend Imberbus from Coventry and Stratford on Avon to travel with him. Departure from Coventry will be at approximately 7am, then picking up at Stratford on Avon Park & Ride site at 7.45am. From Bristol and Bath – The owner of a preserved coach from the Bristol area is planning to bring his vehicle to Imber and has offered to allow anyone wishing to attend Imberbus from Bristol and Bath to travel with him. Departure from Bristol City Centre will be at approximately 8.30am, then picking up at various points along the A36 to Bath at 9am. Ordinary Bus Services to Warminster Market Place (3 mins walk from the Stattion):
– First Bus service D1 – Hourly from Bath, Bradford-on-Avon, Trowbridge and Westbury;
– Beeline bus service 24 – from Salisbury and Wilton every 2 hours.
– FromeBus service 53 – From Frome Market Place.

You can also join the Imberbus service at Tilshead by travelling from Salisbury on Salisbury Reds bus service 2 (please ask the driver to drop you off opposite the Rose & Crown public house).

Travelling from Swindon or Chippenham? Why not take bus service 49 or 33 to Devizes, then catch bus 2 or 270 to West Lavington Cross Roads, which is served by Imberbuses twice per hour. As these service are operated by different bus companies you may find it worth buying a Wiltshire Day Rover Ticket on the first bus you use as this may save you money.

As there is now less than a week before our event, we would strongly encourage you to book now on the above services as space on them is limited.

Car parking will still be available in Warminster Station car park as well as in the normal town centre car parks (please see our “how to get to Warminster” page for directions). If you are intending to use the Station car park, please watch out for buses manoeuvring around the Station forecourt and be prepared to wait whilst we reverse them into position.

We have also arranged for some extra out of town parking at Sack Hill (which is about 2 miles from the town centre at the top of the Imber Road) from 10am onwards – please click HERE to see how to get there from Warminster, or type BA12 0DJ into your sat nav and when you get to the Land Warfare Centre, keep going up the steep hill (the parking area will be at the top of the hill, about 300 metres past the tank on a plinth !). Our buses will call at the Sack Hill Car Park on their way to Imber but please note that if you park at Sack Hill, you will only be able to pay in cash to purchase tickets and there will be no other facilities (such as toilets) available there.
